Welcome

from Headteacher, Stuart Allman

Pathfield School is a vibrant community where staff, parents and many other agencies work in partnership to ensure that every pupil receives the very best possible education and support.  The dedicated staff team recognise that communication is at the heart of all learning, and we develop individualised learning opportunities to maximise interaction. This is achieved through a stimulating environment, inspiring resources and a high level of staff training. We recognise that sometimes pupils may require additional support and we work closely with agencies such as Social Care, Physiotherapists and School Nurses to meet the needs of the whole individual.f extensive training and exposure to learning.

Sports Events at Pathfield

This week, we have had four fun-filled sports days for students from all across the school. On Tuesday, Key Stages 2,3 and 4 walked across to Pilton Community College and took part in a range of activities on the field, including the all important sprint races.

All students took part brilliantly and did themselves proud, an extra well done to KS3 and 4 students who showed great resilience to continue despite the very damp weather! On Wednesday, we held our first Key Stage 1 sports day at Pilton, students did amazingly with the transitions there and back, and although it wasn’t a traditional sports day, they had great fun exploring the space and taking part in different activities.

Lastly, out sensory sports day took place today on the lower playground. Students showed off their strength, co-ordination and teamwork skills and all participated brilliantly. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came and cheered everyone on and a special thank you to all of those who participated as well! Lastly, a huge well done to all of the students who participated this week, you all did amazingly!  -  Ben

A huge well done to Rosealind who is our reader of the week. She is showing such enjoyment of books by visiting the school library several times a week to choose books to take back to class. - Heidi

3rd July 2026 News Summary

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who supported our Sports Days this year. Despite the very mixed weather, it was wonderful to see so many pupils taking part and enjoying the events. A special thank you goes to the secondary group, who braved the rain with great enthusiasm! Here at Pathfield School our Sports Days are all about being active, joining in and having fun. We are always very grateful for your support and participation.

We’ve also seen the start of our Eco Takeover with lots of fun activities over this week and next promoting making good environmental choices. The Key Stage 3 Beach Clean at Croyde was a lovely way to end the week, and today’s wonderful weather meant we had lots of smiling students heading out with their litter pickers this morning!

A group of Post 16 students headed off on a residential trip on Dartmoor this week. This links with their Duke of Edinburgh awards and included an expedition for some. These trips are always great fun and also offer incredible learning opportunities, so a big thank you to all the staff who were able to support this fantastic experience for our students.

Finally, we’ve been working hard getting everything ready for the Pathfield Summer Fayre this Saturday. Gates open at 10am tomorrow, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you all there for fun and games in the sunshine!

Thank you for your support.

Stuart
